Posted August 24, 2015. Hello. Car; Ford fiesta 1.6 tdci 2010. No dpf. Egr blank fitted. I was driving down the dual carriageway today. All of a sudden the 'engine malfunction service now' message appeared on the radio dash and the engine management light on the dash. The car seemed very sluggish and appeared to had lost boost from the turbo.
I bought a 2012 Ford Focus 1.6 TDCi about 5 months ago, after 3 1/2 months (out of warranty) it started to develop a misfire when warm. Driving along at 30mph in third or fourth is difficult, but at 50mph it misses a beat and pulls back frequently. My old man's '06 plate 1.6 auto (4F27E box) has thrown a Transmission Malfunction. Symptoms are: Message Centre shows flashing gear selector, 'Transmission Malfunction' and amber left-hand light. Harsh changes into 'R' and 'D'. Stuck in 2nd or 3rd, so slow to accelerate, no kickdown, no manual selection.
The codes are there to aid with diagnosing the fault and what is crucially important to understand is that the code is alerting you to a condition that the sensor is reporting on. Your particular fault P00BC is pointing you to the air intake, or Induction system and can be as simple as a clogged air filter, or an air leak.
