Not sure if this is really a technical problem but where on a Mk I Punto 75SX should the engine number be? The handbook says "Stamped on the left of the engine block" but I'm buggered if I can find it anywhere. I suspect that there may have been a pressed alloy tab which has been detached/broken

May 16, 2005. #3. Yup, next to the crank sensor. To find it go to the engines left mount (car facing you). Go downwards and you will arrive at the crank sensor. Move a bit towards the front of the car, you will find the oil filter and the pressure sensor. Looks like a very small black cylinder and as Dave said with a wire coming out of it.
